Friend Date

A dress from Topshop, thrifted striped T Shirt (worn underneath), Vintage black leather belt, Nixon watch, H&M necklaces.

Hi Loves!
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of going on a friend date with my pal  Mikell Petty
The day started with brunch at The Squat and Gobble in the Mission district of San Francisco and ended with snacks and drinks at my favorite bar Trick Dog In our afternoon spent together we talked, books, fashion and life in the bay area as we picked through the racks at Community  and Mission thrift. Sometimes you just need a little retail therapy even if its on the cheap. I only spent $40.00 total on all the new clothes I bought, which was totally worth it. (Check back for my thrift haul post to see what I bought!) I have to admit, I've been an avid thrifter most of my life so I have a system when shopping at thrift stores that maximizes my moneys worth, basically I've become a pro. We also walked through one of my favorite art-filled alleys in San Francisco, Clarion Alley. If you haven't been there yet, highly suggest checking this place out. It's quite a visual treat and a great place to take pictures on a summer afternoon.
Happy Solstice!
Summer has arrived...

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

The Grunge Bohemian Look

Red Walgreen's beanie, a mixture of handmade and thrifted necklaces, thrifted black/red embellished tunic dress, Jeffrey Campbell Johnny Tall boots, Thrifted 80's sweater robe and found bag.

Hi Loves!

So I totally wore this look last week to go grocery shopping.

Yes, I actually kinda dress up to go grocery shopping sometimes, but minus the make up this particular morning. I was lazy and just threw this random grunge inspired and gypsy vibe together mainly because of the shitty foggy weather here in the Richmond. San Francisco is definitely having a late start on getting our summer weather on here in the bay. Lately on the weekends I like being comfortable and au natural. I figure while I'm still young I might as well be proud enough to rock a bare face in public without feeling too self conscious. If you feel good then you look good and I was feeling good this day. Once again may I remind you of one of my sayings I live by, "Less is More" and it's so true when it comes to fashion.

The Australians Did It Again

Introducing my new favorite professional hair care line...
With witty product descriptions and sensational scents this hair care line is CRAZY GOOD. To give you readers a little back story, I would like to mention that I  have a talented hairstylist for a mother. Her name: Sue Jones. She recently had worked on my hair a few weeks ago at Trends salon, while I was home visiting San Diego. We decided to give the Ombre trend one last hurrah, so we went for it! The limits are endless when you get your hair done for FREE. I think you don't always need to follow the trends, sometimes you do just what feels good. And I felt like a change. She chopped off my split ends and fixed up my layers and put some bleach on my ends to brighten me and BOY IT SURE DID. I am quite happy with the results but I have to say I wouldn't have been able to maintain my mane if it wasn't for my EVO hair care products.
AND here we go... I'm going to just dive in to what's what and share with you my fabulous luscious hair care gems:

This is the gang: The Therapist calming shampoo and moisturizer and conditioner, the Liquid Roller curl balm and my personal favorite Love Touch shine spray, it smells amazing!
I use all four products after washing my hair and occasionally I'll adds some good ole coconut oil in at the ends to help moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

the therapist calming shampoo $24.00--Find it here

the therapist calming conditioner $24.00--Find it here

liquid rollers $25.00--Find it here

love touch shine spray $30.00-- Find it here

(This post is not sponsored, I just love the products and wanted to share the love.)

Just for fun: Before and After hair pics so you can see the difference for yourself

Thanks for reading.
Also I'd love to hear your thoughts. How do you like to style your hair, what are you tricks and remedies? Maybe I should write a post soon about what different kinds of styling tools to use. I have two straighteners, two curling irons and a hair wand, I'm feeling a creative styling post coming on...

The Flamingo Dress

Sunglasses from Afterlife boutique, Flamingo dress from Buffalo Exchange Hillcrest location in SD, vintage shoes, thrifted moroccan necklace.

Buffalo Exchange Score:
The Flamingo dress the most crazy lace, floral, vintage dress I ever did find.

Hi Loves!
Can you tell I feel confident in this thing?
Well let me tell you, when you're in a dress of this kind of extravagance you can't help but feel a little  fabulous and fancy ( my two favorite "F "words). I love that this dress is a maxi but with a twist throwing the lace layer on the bottom. I wanted to just twirl and dance and spin in this frock all around town. During this shoot, I also discovered the my brother, Trevor can take a decent picture. It must be the artistic genes we share from mom both having an eye for composition/juxtaposition . . .

Speaking of "itions" I think it's safe to say that I'm actually in transition in between jobs right now, which is why I'm trying to take chance and broaden my horizons. Weather it's a book that inspires me or letting go and embracing the new, it's good to try new things!
I hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
