Making Magic Happen

Hello readers,

Today I find myself with a quite crazy mind since I feel like so much has been happening lately, or not happening I could say. Maybe I'm being hard on myself as of late but I can't help but get the vibes that this year is happening so quickly that we simply have not had the chance to hit pause, or restart. Perhaps I'm rambling on but I wanted to talk about the hot topic below.

Let's talk about Collaboration:

One of my personal goals I want to work on this year is blogger collaboration projects using this here blog and testing out my skills on other social media platforms. Reaching out to new and old opportunites is something I've been working hard at the beginning of the month, and now with my 26 year birthday behind me (which was on January 20th last week) I've realized that I've been pretty distracted. For this, I apologize folks, for falling behind on emails, not keeping up with posts and letting my regular non glamorous life get in the way. Work, school, relationships, family and personal sanity time is a thing I'm putting behind me now. lol Sooo with that out in the open I was going to mention a few things:

1. I'm having a new pop up shop with Commune SD, coming up in February 24th which will be the last event for San Diego's Commune Community so therefore we will go out with a bang stepping up to the plate bigger and better this time around. I'll be selling my new creations of handmade jewelry and posting up with an essential oils booth repin' Doterra Oils with my partner in crime. Save the date my fellow San Diegans!

2. I've been behind with my emails and I'm sorry. Moving forward I'd like to get back to the itemized To Do lists I'm used to making and diligently following through with on a weekly basis. Take that beginning of the year itch.

Yes it's true I'm chopping off all my hairs for the sake of creativity and the artistry in the Cosmetology industry.  Tomorrow morning I'll be driving up to Long Beach, CA to be a hair model for The Factory salon based out of downtown SD. Yesterday the salon colored my hair using the Wella color line and made me a rose gold redhead (see Instagram for sneak peeks). I'll be reporting back with this event and all the juicy happenings soon...

4. Currently reading BIG MAGIC Creative Living Beyond Fear written by the author of Eat Pray Love which I'm all sure you're familiar with. I'm obsessed with this read and once I'm done I'll be writing my very own fist "book review" on here, so yeah I'm giving that a shot...

5. I booked my next trip to Portland Oregon for March. I'll be meeting a best friend of mine miss Sara Crane there for the trip and visiting old pals I knew from my days I spent in San Francisco. I'm hoping to scope out salons, neighborhoods all in hopes of possibly moving there in 2017, so we'll see how that goes... I'm pretty excited on this one. Big thanks to my folks for helping me get this trip to happen as my birthday gift this month : )

That is all folks! Now go have a magical weekend!

Bella Bliss Look Two: Bohemian

Hi Loves!

I know you've all been waiting for these. The above images are from the last set I recently collaborated with this crew. For this look it was meant to be a bit more bohemian in feel and translate to more colorful and playful. I switched up the hair and makeup just slightly on the girls adding more braids and pinning up Alex's braid into a loose romantic bun in the back. For makeup I added a pop of color to the lips and a more noticeable blush to the cheeks. When it comes to weddings and styling looks for them it's good to offer and show a range of what can be achieved with only a minor tweaking. This was a great way to fine tune my developing skills as a makeup and hair artist. Stick with me on this journey and you'll keep seeing more and more of what I'm capable of. I hope these images inspire you. Now let's have a great week, after all it is wedding season you know ; )

Thanks everyone!

Nashville On My Mind

Hi Loves!

Okay so let's talk about Nashville. I can't even seem to find the words to even begin to tell you all about my experience to this fantastic music city. It's even taken me a week to process being back home in San Diego and facing reality again. I was riding on this travel high all of last week and had to just process what happened while I was away. From seeing and visiting old friends to meeting new ones to traveling with a best friend and driving each other crazy to hoping the fence on New Years and sneaking into the VIP section for the Kings of Leon concert it all happened so fast.

I would definitely say that this New Years trip goes down in my epic New Years pocket of memories to be cherished. It was so neat exploring all over the city eating and drinking everywhere Alex and I went. From East Nashville, Downtown Broadway, Germantown, The Gulf, Five Points and even Greenhills I think was we went pretty much everywhere. Thanks to our Uber and lyft drivers for being wonderful tour guides and friendly locals we didn't even need to rent a car while we were there. The whole city works as a spiral, everything spirals out and around from their downtown center which I found interesting. All neighborhoods were 10-15 minutes apart from each other and the cost of living and getting around was quite affordable.

To my surprise I was not bombarded by country music 24/7 while Alex and I were there which was refreshing. Don't get me wrong there was plenty of live country musicians in the downtown bars off broadway where you can definitely get your fill of the local music scene.
Back to focusing on the previous list from my blog post here: Nashville On The Horizon these are the places I went while I was in Nashville for 4 days....

 1. Black 13 Tattoo Parlor  I totally got a new tattoo while I was in Nashville on my last day there.
2. Jeni's 12 South Heard a lot about this place so we had to hit it up. It was real yummy ice cream to say the least.
3. Frothy Monkey this small chain local cafe company had multiple locations in Nashville, I had a bring home a bag of coffee beans with me from this place it was delicious
4. South For good eats and drinks, ended our New Year's day hangover here : )
5. Acme Feed & Seed Such a cool spot to people watch and watch the sunset go down from their rooftop bar.
7. Barista Parlor Had the pour over coffee and a biscuit sandwich which I can still taste in my mouth, sooo good.
8. The Crying Wolf A cool spot for the locals to hang out and shoot some darts and play some pool.
9.The Local Taco This was our first stop on our trip when Alex and I arrived in Nashville, can't beat that good southern cookin
12. Dukes bar for a nightcap
13. Five Spot for live DJing and dancing
14. Downtown Broadway street for bar hopping and live music

Now there is probably a few other places we hit up but I can't remember every single little one but the ones above certainly get my thumbs up and approval.

The only places we didn't get to visit were  the Grand Ole Opry, Dollywood and the  The Pharmacy, Paterson house and The Opryland hotel perhaps next time...

I miss Nashville and can't wait to go back again sometime. On a side note I have one more post coming from this trip so stay tunned for that...

Hope ya'll is having a grand ole week so far!
